focus

4 objectives

OBJ 1 ⇒ Monitor the flow of tourists and visitors on site (complex) : by car, by bus, by bike, by canoe, on foot.

OBJ 2 ⇒ Entries, time passed on site, departures

OBJ 3 ⇒ Re-direct tourists to different places if overcrowded

OBJ 4 ⇒ Observe the satisfaction of the tourists

solutions planned

Monitoring the visitors flows will be done  thanks to cameras, web-cam, eco-sensors and statistics, to be installed or already collected on site. The focus will be set on the access points, the parkings, the bridge, the Gardon river, as well as on viewpoints that are often overcrowded.

The data will be uploaded to the Herit Data platform and increment a dashboard. This tool is important for the Pont du Gard team and the destination managers. An App will access to certain information of the platform and address the visitors. Thanks to the webcam, each visitor will be able to decide, before coming,  wether for her or him, the site is “overcrowded” or not.

advancements

The Herit Data plateform has been integrated in the Unesco plan of the site, which is an important point for he sustainability of the project.

♦ A special “Herit-Data” team has been put in place with members of the Pont du Gard and the Region Occitanie.

The actual existing data and material has been identified and integrated within the project.

The new material and software is been identified and will be implemented in spring 2021.
